ESL have revealed details on the Asia Minor, Intel Extreme Masters Taipei, and its slot distribution. Renegades and CyberZen have received a direct invite for the tournament, while six teams will have to battle their way through qualifiers.
A total of eight teams will participate in the Asia Minor with two all-expenses-paid MLG Columbus offline qualifier slots up for grabs, as well as $50,000.
Six qualifiers for six different regions will be held in the next three weeks, with each one handing out one slot for IEM Taipei:
January 9 South East Asian qualifier January 9-17 Indian and Western Asian qualifier January 11-16 Oceania qualifier January 11-16 Chinese qualifier January 16 East Asian qualifier January 23-24 Taiwanese qualifier
The remaining two slots will be going to two invited teams, which are Renegades and CyberZen, arguably two main favourites going into the tournament.
